Old CAD file format

I just got a file from a client with a .CAD extension.  i can't open it.  it appears to be either from AutoSketch or QuickCAD.  I would buy one of those programs, but I don't want to spend the money if i'm not sure I'll be able to open the file or run the program on Windows 7.

Mike,

I have both AutoSketch and QuickCAD. I just switched to WIN7, and QuickCAD8 works there.  If you don't want to buy the program I could convert the .CAD file to a .DXF or .DWG

Ken,  thanks,  i tried the direct route and asked the person who sent it to me to save it in another format and they already did that.  Thanks for responding.
