Is Inventor CAD???

This group associates users of the exciting CAD system created by Autodesk to overcame the limitation of the more traditional AutoCAD.

Inventor is solid modelling software so, IMO, is not CAD.
I consistently tell those starting off in IV that you are not drawing something but making something. Indeed, those with an aptitude for making things make better progress than those without even if they have good 2D CAD skills.

What do you mean by CAD?

(1) CAD = Computer Aided Design
(2) CAD = Computer Aided Drafting

The most common interpretation is D=DESIGN. In this perspective AutoDesk Inventor is a CAD system. The fact that is based on solid modeling engine only makes it a better CAD system.
