Blake Courter replied to Fabrizio Fioralli's discussion 'SpaceClaim: Draw 3D triangles via API in VB.NET'
"Unfortunately, no solid modeler can handle that many triangles.  That's why we have a separate mesh object.  I will file a request to add APIs to let you work directly with it.   Best, -Blake"

Blake Courter replied to Fabrizio Fioralli's discussion 'SpaceClaim: Draw 3D triangles via API in VB.NET'
"Hi Fabrizio,   You should be careful creating a body with too many faces.  The reason we don't turn STL files into solids is that they can be very complex and bog down the system.  Precise solid modelers like SpaceClaim are…"

Blake Courter replied to Dennis Nelson's discussion 'Direct Modeling Problem'
"After consulting with R&D, it appears that it's not possible to make that change in one operation in SpaceClaim 2011 SP0.  I trust they will make that easier in the near future.  Will keep you posted.   In the mean time, your…"

"Don't laugh! I have already used french curves on my tablet PC for sketching, and no matter what people say: It's not the worst method there is for drawing organic shapes. Why not? The most difficult part in all this is justifying the…"

Blake Courter commented on Blake Courter's blog post 'SpaceClaim Multi-Touch'
"Yeah, I blew my right hand out a few years ago tracing a design. The journal file showed 4000 mouse picks in four hours. Now I can use both. I like the idea of using an old-school drafting table, with the MT display flush. If I could use a stylus…"

martin kopplow commented on Blake Courter's blog post 'SpaceClaim Multi-Touch'
"Hej Blake, interesting setup you have there. Multi-Mouse, too! :O) I wonder if you put your elbows on the desk left and right of the keyboard to use touch, and if it hurts after a few minutes. At least that's what I got. I tried a higher desk…"

Halloween Challenge Winner

It was a great pleasure for me to judge all the excellent entries for the Halloween Challenge. I evaluated these videos using the following criteria:

• Storyline

• Realism of the use case

• Technical finesse and modeling creativity

These videos exceeded my expectations and challenged me to pick a clear winner. I loved that most of them were silent, so the model itself had to speak. The one that triumphed had a strong story line, a customer-focused use case, and… Continue

Hi Blake,

Thank you for the support address! I'll send my file today.
I'm working for Senz Umbrellas, the company that makes storm proof umbrellas, you might have heard of it. We were featured as a SpaceClaim case. (http://images.spaceclaim.com/SENZ_Umbrella_Case_Study_WEB.pdf)
Here at Senz we are working on doing more and more detailed engineering ourselves. So we'll be doing everything from conceptual design to final engineering in SpaceClaim.

Regards, Tijs

Dear Blake,

I told Franco Folini that I keep a word document with SpaceClaim enhancement requests, that I update everytime I encounter something while using SpaceClaim. He said I should share this document with you. Are you interested?
If you are, please let me know and I will send this file to you.

Best Regards,
Tijs
