SpaceClaim has two types of product, SpaceClaim Style & SpaceClaim Engineer
SpaceClaim Engineer has sheet-metal module & allows you to apply add-ons, these variety of add-ons helps you to open different CAD files ranging from CATIA, Pro-E, Inventor, SolidWorks, NX ...
But you have to pay for each add-on you would like to have.

Manoj, the application or domain for which you are designing is of utmost importance, CATIA is best for surfacing, many models are so complicated that it could not be modeled as solid directly like BiW (Automobile body) made of sheet-metal, requires to be done in Automotive Class A surfacing + Generative shape design of CATIA.
A company makes a buying decision of a software on the basis of the output expected & so no software can replace CATIA in terms of designing Aerospace, Automobile body or Plastic interiors for the same.
Cost comens in effect next, so though CATIA has sheet-metal module, but a medium size firm would preffer SolidWorks or Pro-E for cost effectiveness, Pro-E is used for castings & Mould design
UG NX is used where output is required for machining like in case of CNC

SpaceClaim is having a special field of application, fast conceptual modeling, as it does not have bonds of conventional Parametric modeling, many & huge file format support, bring any CAD model & edit in SpaceClaim, even edit dead models like IGES files. Best suited for improving models, which finds data loss during transfer from CAD to CAE software.
So we need to know what kind of designing your company does
